What is Business Initiative All About?

'Business Initiative' is part of a national consortium of Enterprise Agencies providing FREE advice for those wishing to go into business on their own or to assist existing businesses who may wish to expand or are experiencing problems.

Advice
The Agency is an independent non profit making organisation, sponsored by local businesses and run by a full-time Director (Jill Levens) with a support team including experienced Business Advisors who can offer FREE and CONFIDENTIAL advice on all aspects of business. The Agency is an associate of the Chamber of Commerce and a full working partner with Business Link.

'Business Initiative' has a qualified team of trainers who offer full support ranging from short start-up business courses to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) up to level 3 in:

Business Planning – over 3 days or 5 evenings
Short courses in e-business, health & safety, book-keeping and marketing
Exploring Enterprise NVQ 2
Business Start-up NVQ 3
ILM Introduction to Supervisory Management Level 2

Many of the programmes are financially subsidised, enabling us to offer excellent value for money.

Resource Centre
A Computer Resource Centre has been established by the Agency for general business training. You can now access computerised training packages or make use of a computer by prior appointment.
